In a weekend that saw all four seasons of weather with snow, heavy rain, and a tornado that blew tents and other debris on the track, NASCAR Fans in Upstate New York were saying “I told you so” to the sanctioning body for the schedule change to the month of May this year.
Michael McDowell started P2 and finished P2 in the Go Bowling at The Glen.
Chase Elliott has a huge fan base at Watkins Glen International. Elliott won the previous weeks race at Texas.
Tyler Reddick started in P15 but a late race pit stop on lap 72 put him back to P34. Reddick then clawed his way to a P5 finish in the 100-lap race.
Ty Gibbs was a threat all day leading 17 laps in the race, while finishing P3 at the Watkins Glen Road Course.
Joe Gibbs Racing’s Chase Briscoe finished P4 in the Mobil 1 Toyota.
No. 3 Austin Dillion passing Ryan Preece at Watkins Glen. Austin came home with a P6 finish in the race.
A.J. Allmendinger finished in the top ten with a P7.
Kyle Busch has seen a bit of a mid-season resurgence in his performance on the track. Busch started P21 but finished P8. The Richard Childress Racing driver has seen his top ten finishes mount.
Austin Cindric started P3 and still wound up in the top ten with a P9 at the end of the day.
John Hunter Nemechek rounded out the top ten at Watkins Glen.

Watkins Glen race fans of all ages were happy that NASCAR announced that the 2027 schedule would be moved back to September next year for the more traditional race date.
